Privacy Policy
Noden ("the app") is a macOS SSH & SFTP client developed by Useroam Teknoloji ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We designed Noden to keep your sensitive data on your own Mac.
1. Information stored only on your device
Your SSH connection details (host, username, port, group) and all secrets — passwords, key passphrases and private keys — are stored only on your Mac: non-secret fields in the app's local files, and secrets in the macOS Keychain. This information is never transmitted to Useroam. File contents you open or transfer are never collected.
2. Information processed by our service
- Subscription / license. To verify your plan and usage quota, the app sends a credential (your license key or subscription identifier) to our gateway. We store this identifier and the entitlement state associated with it.
- AI requests. When you use the Noden AI assistant, the text of your request is sent to our gateway to generate command suggestions. If you enable “Help improve Noden AI”, the request and the command you choose to run are also stored to improve the assistant. We do not send file contents, passwords, private keys, or command output.
- Your own AI provider (optional). If you configure a custom provider (e.g. OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, or a local model), your AI requests go directly to that provider under your own account and are governed by their privacy policy. Your API key is stored in your Mac's Keychain and is not sent to us.
- Feedback & crash reports (anonymous, opt-in). When you use Help ▸ Send Feedback, or agree to report an unexpected quit, the app sends only: the message you typed, the Noden version, your macOS version, and a random installation ID generated on first use. That ID is not derived from your hardware, serial number or MAC address and is not linked to your license or account — it exists to limit abuse of the endpoint. We do not collect connection names, hostnames, IP addresses, usernames, passwords, keys, file paths, terminal output or macOS crash logs. Nothing is ever sent until you press Send, and you can turn off the unexpected-quit prompt in Settings ▸ General ▸ Feedback.
- Usage statistics (anonymous, can be turned off). Once a day the app reports four things: the same random installation ID described above, the Noden version, your macOS version, and whether you installed from our website or the App Store. That is the entire payload — no connections, hostnames, usernames, file paths, or content of any kind — and your IP address is neither stored nor written to our web server logs. It exists to answer one question we cannot answer from download counts: how many people actually use Noden. You can turn it off in Settings ▸ General ▸ Privacy; when it is off, the app makes no such request at all.
3. How we use information
To provide and secure the service, verify subscriptions, enforce usage quotas, and — only with your opt-in — improve the quality of the AI assistant. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Service providers
We use Apple's App Store and a subscription provider to process and validate purchases, and your chosen AI provider when you bring your own key. These parties process data under their own terms.
5. Data retention & security
Subscription identifiers and opt-in learning data are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above. Feedback and crash reports are kept for up to 180 days and then deleted. Usage statistics records are kept for up to 400 days; the aggregate daily counts derived from them contain no identifiers at all and are kept indefinitely. Data in transit is protected with TLS. You can stop all data sharing at any time by turning off the learning option and not using the AI assistant.
6. Your choices & rights
You can remove your license at any time in the app, disable AI learning and usage statistics in Settings, and request access to or deletion of data associated with your identifier by contacting us. Depending on your region you may have additional rights under applicable law.
7. Children
Noden is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
